School registered with the Yoga Alliance

Join us on a personal journey to deepen your own practice, explore the beauty of Yoga and prepare yourself to share classes as a teacher in the modern world.

In our course you will learn an alignment based practice used in both Vinyasa Flow classes and Restorative Yoga classes. At Flying Tree we believe strongly in the power of community, and you will be supported in a family of like-minded individuals who are here to explore this beautiful and deep practice together. Our experienced and passionate instructors are here to guide you along the way.

Our course is registered with the Yoga Alliance and will allow you to become a RYT-200 hour teacher.

A journey to the self:

Our course is based on the wisdom of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which guides us towards stilling the mind and connecting with higher states of consciousness. You will learn to practice Asana (postures) in a steady, safe and comfortable manner, based on an understanding of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. Our course includes both the Vinyasa Flow and Restorative styles of Yoga, and is accessible to both new practitioners and experienced yogis alike.

Pranayama (breath-work) techniques will help you manage your vital energy and direct the focus of your mind before learning meditation techniques, including breath meditation and body scan. In addition, you will learn more about your personal constitution through a close study of Ayurveda and the system of the Chakras, with the aim of finding balance on a physical, energetic and mental level.

Taking on the role of the teacher:

Once you have begun to deepen your personal understanding of the path of Yoga, you will be prepared to share these techniques with others and take on the role of the teacher. You will learn to craft safe and effective sequences, for both vinyasa flow and restorative yoga, that can be adapted to a range of different students with different physical needs. You will furthermore learn to direct practice through effective cueing, demonstration and use of adjustments and assists.

Our vision:

We hope you enjoy this course, and find it as useful as we have in making positive changes in both our own lives and the lives of our students. All of what we share here comes from the heart, and has been tried and tested by our teachers and their predecessors over the millennia. We share these teachings with sincerity, love and respect for the cultural and historical traditions of Yoga, while looking forward to its continued sharing around the globe in the future.

Many people like to speak with us over Zoom or Whatsapp so we can discuss your needs and answer any questions you might have - let us know if you would like to organise a chat! Otherwise do write us with any questions.

I’m truly grateful to have had the opportunity to have been part of such an amazing community that supports and encourages one another and of course for Andrews unwavering guidance and instructions
— Melissa Velasquez, RYT (2019)
Flying Tree has a very comprehensive and thoughtful approach to their yoga teacher training. They are careful to give attention to both the scientific and philosophical aspects of the practice. Upon completion of the course you will have a profound respect for all aspects of the yogic lifestyle and an understanding that goes far beyond the asanas. The instructors are warm, personable, knowledgable, and extremely accessible. There was never a moment I felt unheard or unable to seek direct guidance. I feel fortunate for my time in the program and so will you.
